Fiona Rea

Director, Co-owner of Weeefun Therapy

Fiona is the founder and co-owner of Weeefun Therapy for Children, established in 2007. She graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree, Occupational Therapy (OT), Lincoln School of Health Sciences, La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia in 1990 and has over 30 years experience in pediatrics. She is Advanced Practice in Swallowing, Assessment, and Certification (SWC), a Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), Sensory Integration and Praxis Test Certified (SIPT), Neuro Developmental Treatment Certified (C/NDT), and NDT treatment of the child and of the baby, with ongoing education in NDT and Sensory Integration. She is also Level 1 certified for Handwriting Without Tears. Fiona is a co-instructor for “Providing Effective Therapy in the Natural Environment-“ profession CEU class, and provides ongoing staff/professional training at Weeefun in the area of developmental motor skills development and dysphagia. She has a professional background with neonatal and high-risk infants/feeding and swallowing, MBSS, at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, CA (including mentor and training to others), and University Hospital Salt Lake City, UT. NICU and ICUs and throughout the U.S. since 2000. She has extensive experience with children with neuromotor disorders and cerebral palsy and has practiced worldwide, including but not limited to, Australia, London/UK, Romania, Singapore, Sabah/Borneo and the Middle East. Her passions include rock climbing, mountain biking, camping, running outdoors and playing in the ocean.

Judy Parkinson is a senior pediatric occupational therapist who joined Weeefun in February 2014. Judy has 26 years of pediatric experience, and over 16 years of specialized experience treating infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Cardiothoracic Intensive care units. Judy worked at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in the NICU, CTICU, and PICU and throughout the hospital with high-risk infants and young children, specializing in the evaluation and treatment in feeding and swallowing as well as early development for over 13 years. During that time she performed and read MBSS and trained other therapists in developmental, feeding and swallowing evaluation and treatments, and interpreting MBSS. At CHLA, Judy ran the multi-disciplinary feeding study group. Judy also worked at White Memorial Medical Center in the NICU, PICU and outpatient programs as a senior therapist, as well as training other therapists and students, and was part of the cleft-palate clinic. At Weeefun, Judy has continued to specialize in feeding and swallowing, providing mentoring, teaching and supervision to the Dysphagia program for junior OT staff. In addition, taking on the high-risk infants such as cardiac and status-post ECMO, oxygen or trach-dependent infants. Judy is a key member of the team completing developmental evaluations for Weeefun to the regional center Early Start program/ 0-3 year old population, includes assessing developmental, feeding and sensory processing. Judy is also affiliated with the High-Risk Follow-Up clinic at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, performing their developmental follow-up evaluations. Judy is advanced practice certified in feeding and swallowing, as well as a certified lactation educator.

Kristina Egbert
OTR/L
Licensed OT

Kristina is a licensed occupational therapist and joined the Weeefun Therapy team in February 2022. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Exercise and Health Science from University of California, Santa Barbara. Kristina fell in love with this field when she witnessed the joy participation in daily activities can bring to children and their families. She pursued a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from Stanbridge University in Irvine, CA. Outside of the clinic, you can find Kristina baking cookies or outdoors on her bike or in the mountains. She also brings the joy of these extra-curricular activities, for her families to enjoy, in her work at Weeefun.
Stephanie is an occupational therapist and joined the Weeefun Therapy team in 2022. She earned her Bachelor’s in Health and Human Sciences from Loyola Marymount University and her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Stanbridge University. She is trained in the Beckman Oral Motor intervention methods with emphasis in feeding therapies. At Weeefun she enjoys working with the early intervention population and collaborating with families. When she is not in the clinic, she likes to spend her time at the beach, skiing, and trying new restaurants.

Michael J. Workman
PT, C/NDT
Senior Physical Therapist

Michael is the Senior Physical Therapist at Weeefun Therapy, since early 2019, with over 30 years of experience as a pediatric physical therapist, with a background and certified in neurodevelopmental treatment, further specialty in seating and positioning.
Michael graduated from State University New York Stony Brook, with a B.S Physical Therapy in 1993, and from University of Utah with B.S in Exercise Sports Science in 1991. Michael is a co-instructor for “Providing Effective Therapy in the Natural Environment”- professional CEU class provided by Weeefun Therapy, and provides consistent and ongoing staff/professional training in the area of NDT- facilitation and motor skills development, of the baby and child, for all of our therapy staff. Michael is the primary developer and president of The Bamboo Brace, a dynamic elbow brace for children (and adults) with disabilities. He is the equipment Placement Director of the nonprofit Ability Found, with mission to help those less fortunate, acquire medical and mobility equipment.
Peggy has been working with Weeefun since our early days, 2010. She received her Undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine 1998. She then earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, 2002. In the past, she has worked in acute rehabilitation, inpatient hospital, and outpatient orthopedics, which provided her with a solid knowledge foundation and a variety of experiences in diverse settings. Her love of babies and children led her to devote entirely to this challenging pediatrics area, but enjoyable environment at Weeefun Therapy. She is a compassionate and personable individual who is also fluent in mandarin Chinese as well as English.

Sheri Szabo

Physical Therapist

Sheri Szabo, PT, studied in Uppsala University, Sweden and brings 30-years of Physical Therapy general and pediatric experience to support the variety of children at Weeefun. She has dedicated the last 10-years with school age children and is a key member of our Early Start 0-3 evaluation team. Sheri is a local gem in our community and is an avid supporter of her teenage son and his ice hockey habits.
Kim Evans brings her 30 + years of management experience, working for a national promotional products company as well as major retailers to the office.
She completed her education at CSUDH where she majored in Psychology.
Outside of work she fills her day spending time with her family. As a wife of more the 20 years, she and her husband have 24-year-old twins, an 11- year-old daughter and have shared their home with 20+ foster children. Fostering children who had medical concerns lead her to Weeefun, first as the parent of clients and now as part of the team. Kim brings vital organizational skills to support our office to maximal productive capacity, to best support the therapy provision to the kids in our community.
